- 1. What is the difference between the Ontario Universities' Fair (OUF) held in Toronto and the University Information Program (UIP) that will be touring local secondary schools? Will the local UIP provide the same information as is available at the OUF?
-
The Ontario Universities' Fair (OUF) in Toronto is essentially the Toronto University Information Program (UIP). The OUF is the first of the UIP sessions that will occur across Ontario. The university presentations that are made at the OUF are the same as those that will be made in UIP sessions throughout the fall. The same universities travel to all the UIPs.
The OUF is unique in that the universities bring faculty, students, athletics personnel and even their presidents to the event. At the OUF, you can speak with a wide variety of university personnel. The OUF is the next best thing to visiting the university yourself.
- 2. What is the admission cost for the Ontario Universities' Fair?
-
- 3. Is the Ontario Universities' Fair open to students outside of Ontario?
-
The OUF is open to everyone.
- 4. Is it necessary to register in order to attend the information presentations offered by the universities?
-
The universities' presentations are organized on a first-come, first-served basis. No registration is required to attend these informational sessions.
- 5. Will there be any information available about graduate or professional studies (such as teacher's education) at the Ontario Universities' Fair?
-
The OUF is geared towards secondary school students and therefore primarily provides information about undergraduate programs.
However, some universities may choose to also provide information about some graduate and/or professional programs. University representatives will usually be able to answer general questions about graduate studies.
You can find additional information about some Ontario professional programs at this website: www.ouac.on.ca/applications/.
- 6. Is the Ontario Universities' Fair suitable for a mature student?
-
While the OUF is designed for secondary school students, it provides information primarily about undergraduate programs, so it is also a useful resource for mature students who are interested in those programs. In addition, the OUF provides the opportunity to speak directly to faculty and staff about any university programs of interest.
